The photography industry, like any other, has its share of challenges and concerns. In my photography business, I strive to alleviate these worries and offer an enjoyable, stress-free experience. In this blog post, we will explore the top five complaints voiced about our industry and discuss how my business addresses these concerns by tailoring our services to fit your needs.
Unreasonable Prices or Hidden Costs
Clients should never feel that a photographer's pricing structure is unfair, with hidden costs or additional fees that were not clearly communicated upfront. They deserve transparency in pricing and should always receive value for what they pay. My goal as a St. Louis family photographer is to be as transparent about project costs with my clients as possible. Prior to every session, I meet with my client at an in-home clothing and design consultation. This is an opportunity for me to become familiar with each family's goals and offer recommendations for wardrobe and portrait sizes based upon their home and needs. My clients know what to expect at their order even before the session, when we’ll be photographing for specific pieces of wall art and storytelling albums.
Inadequate Posing and Direction
Sometimes it feels awkward or daunting to pose for a photo. One of the most common concerns I hear is people are afraid they will look unnatural in a posed photo. One of the main reasons for feeling awkward while posing is self-consciousness and lack of practice. During each session, I make it a priority to create a relaxed and supportive environment so my clients can let go of their apprehensions and begin to trust the process. I will help you incorporate a variety of natural poses that are both flattering and uncomplicated. I also aim to capture the natural dynamics within families and help you forget about the presence of the camera, so you can just be yourself.
Unsatisfactory Image Quality or Editing
Clients may worry about the final product, particularly when it comes to image quality or the editing process. Some common past experiences may include blurry or out-of-focus images, excessive or unrealistic retouching, or incorrect color balance. However, with 22 years of experience as a photographer, I want to assure you that you are in capable hands. Over the years, I have encountered numerous scenarios and challenges, allowing me to adapt to various lighting conditions, environments, and subjects. This experience has equipped me with the expertise needed to consistently produce high-quality photographs that exceed expectations, win state and national awards and are featured in photography magazines. I have received a Master of Photography degree from the Professional Photographers of America, a degree awarded only to the most highly qualified photographers. I am also a Certified Professional Photographer, a designation given for technical excellence in a variety of photographic conditions.
